As a volunteer organization, members are expected to participate in building & grounds upkeep and maintenance along with special projects designed to improve the overall operation of the club track at Tilden Park.

Activities at the club facility include monthly meetings, progress reports by those building special projects, Open House for the public and Spring & Fall Meets for members & visiting guests from other live steam clubs. Special events (eg. Small Scale Meet) may be held from time-to-time through out the year.
Sundays are “run days” along with free rides available for the public from Noon until about 3 pm, weather & staff permitting. Volunteers in the positions of engineer, brakeman and station master are always needed to assist with this popular Public Train operation.

There is a work day every Thursday for those with spare time & energy and the Saturday following the monthly club meeting is reserved for larger projects that may require much more bodies to complete. Many members have donated valuable professional advice, assistance and material that allows the club to be self-sufficient and to complete most projects without hiring outside help. Without the hard work of our membership, our railroad club could not exist.
To qualify for membership, one is required to attend two monthly meetings. You first need to attend a monthly club meeting, introduce yourself and obtain a membership application from the Membership chairman Sammy Tamez or Secretary Matt Petach. You then need to come to the following monthly club meeting and hand in the application with the one-time initiation fee and the yearly club dues (pro-rated based on membership date), a Release and Indemnity form will also be provide for your signature.
Our organization is essentially an adult-oriented group of individuals with a passion for live steaming, railroading and model engineering. This relaxed & laid-back attitude provides limited activities for kids & teens but it does provide an opportunity for the sharing of a common interest between parent or guardian & child.
Monthly meetings are usually held on the second Sunday of the month, promptly at 10 am at the clubhouse but please check the calendar page for the actual dates.
Happy Railroading & Model Engineering!
